TOLL COVID-19 FAQ

Q. What happens if the season is cancelled after I pay and before the season begins?

A.  TOLL will issue a full refund (minus any credit card fees collected by SportsEngine: $1.00 technology fee plus 3.00% of the payment amount).

Q. What happens if the season begins but then is subsequently cancelled?

A. Our plan is to not begin the season until there is a good indication that we will be able to complete at least most of it.  However, if we are forced to stop our season by the State, County or School District, the TOLL Board has adopted the following refund policy.  Please note that the Board will reevaluate this policy if the season dates must be changed.

REFUND POLICY

  • There will be no refunds given after January 13, 2021, unless the season is shortened or cancelled due to State/County/Local restrictions.
  • A $25 processing fee will apply to all player cancellations, unless the season is shortened or cancelled due to State/County/Local restrictions.
  • TOLL does not refund online payment fees charged by SportsEngine ($1.00 technology fee plus 3.00% of the payment amount is assessed).  TOLL does NOT receive any of the online payment fees charged by SportsEngine.

COVID-Related Refunds - This refund policy applies if there are State/County/Local restrictions due to COVID-19.

  • TOLL will issue a full refund if the season is cancelled before the season begins.
  • TOLL will issue a full refund if the season is cancelled before April 2, 2021.
  • After April 2, 2021, TOLL will evaluate the state of the league and determine future refunds and discounts.
  • TOLL does not refund online payment fees charged by SportsEngine ($1.00 technology fee plus 3.00% of the payment amount is assessed).  TOLL does NOT receive any of the online payment fees charged by SportsEngine.

Q. How do I get my 10% discount?

A. All returning families will automatically receive the discount if registered by the Early Bird deadline of December 31, 2020.   The 10% discount will not apply after the Early Bird deadline.

Q. Do I have to pay a volunteer fee again?

A. Returning families will not pay a volunteer fee this season and will have the opportunity of recouping last season’s $40 if a 3-hour Snack Shack volunteer shift is completed. If Snack Shack volunteers are not allowed due to State, County or School District guidelines, the Board will ensure there will be other opportunities for families to recoup the $40.

Previously shared FAQs:

Why was the 2020 season cancelled?

  1. This was a difficult decision and not one the Board of Directors took lightly. As many of you are aware, our permits to use the Colina facility as well as the CRPD fields were suspended during the pandemic.  On June 11th, the latest COVID update from the Ventura County Health Department allowed certain businesses and activities to open with restrictions (including day camps limited to groups of 10) but did not address Youth Sports Organizations.  While the order does not specifically address baseball, it was becoming clear that without this clear guidance from Government officials, our field permits were not going to be reinstated and that we were not going to be permitted on our fields in the near future for practices or games.

Why are there no refunds?

  1. As explained, baseball expenses are paid at the beginning of the new season, and maintenance of our fields continues all year.  As such, TOLL, like other leagues, is in no financial position to refund already-invested registration fees.  The roll-over of the volunteer fee acknowledges the lack of opportunity for families to volunteer this past season, and the 10% discount on early-bird registration fees is a token of our appreciation for returning players and an acknowledgment of our collective disappointment over the cancelled 2020 season.

My player(s) is not returning next season.

  1. We’re sad to hear this but understand that each family has to make the right decision for them for many different reasons.  Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide any compensation beyond what is being offered.

Will my sponsorship money be returned?

  1. Our wonderful sponsors are the backbone of our nonprofit League.  Maintenance to our facilities is continuous, and without our Casino Night and Dodger Day fundraisers as well as our Snack Shack income this year to supplement registration fees, we are more reliant than ever on sponsors’ donations to help carry us into the 2021 season.  We will save the yearbook acknowledgements for next season. Banners for Homerun sponsors will be proudly displayed next season. We sincerely thank you for your donation to not only the League, but the 400+ players your donation supports.

I still have not received my player’s pictures.

  1. Numerous attempts have been made for picture pick-up either through Team Moms or pickup dates.  Please email thousandoakslittleleague@gmail.com to arrange for a pickup.
