TOLL COVID-19 FAQ

Why was the 2020 season cancelled?

  1. This was a difficult decision and not one the Board of Directors took lightly. As many of you are aware, our permits to use the Colina facility as well as the CRPD fields were suspended during the pandemic.  On June 11th, the latest COVID update from the Ventura County Health Department allowed certain businesses and activities to open with restrictions (including day camps limited to groups of 10) but did not address Youth Sports Organizations.  While the order does not specifically address baseball, it was becoming clear that without this clear guidance from Government officials, our field permits were not going to be reinstated and that we were not going to be permitted on our fields in the near future for practices or games.

Will there be refunds?

  1. As mentioned in our previous communication, the finances of the League have always been and will continue to be transparent and open to all for review. Little League Baseball is a front-loaded sport, meaning that by the time the season has begun we’ve paid for uniforms, field permits, equipment, insurance, etc.  In addition, field maintenance is a year-round task, and simply because we are not playing does not mean it stops.  The Board is still reviewing our income and expenses and discussing how we should best proceed in determining if and what refunds or credits for next season can be offered, but also without a long-term impact to the future of the League as a nonprofit organization.  We expect to have a final decision by mid-July.

When will I get my pictures?

  1. Some Team Moms have graciously picked up pictures to deliver to their players.  For those still needing their pictures, a schedule will be sent out shortly with pick-up times by division.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate multi-division pick-up given time and volume.

Will my sponsorship money be returned?

  1. The backbone of our nonprofit League rests on our wonderful sponsors.  As mentioned above, maintenance to our facilities is continuous, and without our Casino Night and Dodger Day fundraisers as well as our Snack Shack income this year to supplement the registration fees, we are more reliant on these donations to help carry us into the 2021 season.  We will save the yearbook acknowledgements for next season. For Homerun sponsors, banners will be proudly displayed next season. We sincerely thank you for your donation to not only the League, but the 400+ players your donation supports.

Will my Tee-Ball/Coach Pitch player receive their participation trophy?

  1. No, we elected to forgo this expense in an effort to preserve funds.
